MLM Genealogy Leads - The Good, The Bad & The Unsightly

MLM genealogy leads can be a valuable tool in setting up your network marketing business, especially if you're a professional internet marketer. But, much like most things, there are both positives and negatives to using them. In this article, we'll look at the issues surrounding MLM genealogy lists.

First, The Good...

I often check with mlm networkers that are new to this business. Most of the time, they've been advised by their upline to make a list of friends, loved ones, and acquaintances to approach about their opportunity.

This is not the best advice.

If you're marketing sports cars, the perfect prospect is someone who has purchased a sports vehicle recently... that may or may not include your pals, family, and acquaintances.

Sponsoring anyone into your MLM prospect is no different. Ideally, you need t talk to individuals who have joined a network marketing opportunity lately. These are known as "opportunity buyers," and that's precisely what MLM genealogy leads are.

Therefore, if you're thinking about buying MLM genealogy leads, you're on the proper track.

The Bad...

Regrettably, it's not always that easy.

MLM genealogy leads are often years old, having been pulled from the back office of companies which are no longer in operation. This translates into a lot of bad numbers and people yelling, "John doesn't live here anymore... Stop calling me!"

Additionally, there's a very good chance that the list has been sold often times. Odds are, your "fresh MLM genealogy lead" has been approached many times before you ever bought their information.

Another issue is clients. Many companies place both customers and marketers in the same report, and simply because someone bought a product does not mean they'll be thinking about joining an opportunity. Yet more of your time is wasted.

The Ugly...

Last of all, there's one very important thing to consider. Every name on the list which you purchased there for one reason and one reason only: they signed up with, or purchased product from, a MLM.

Not one of them called for their name to be put there, nor did they ask to be solicited by you.

This influences you in two ways:

1) Legally, you have to be watchful in the way you initiate contact. Since you don't have their authorization, and their phone number might be on the do not call list, you can't take advantage of something like voice broadcasting... and you have to be careful with e-mail.

You may contact them one by one, but that's not very useful...

Direct mail is probably most secure, but a few MLM genealogy leads actually include address data. Most include name, phone number, and e-mail if you're fortuitous.

2) It takes more skill to hit your objectives with these leads. If you're going to pick up the phone and call them harsh, you better know precisely what you're going to say and be confident in your delivery.

If not--if they smell fear--you'll be eaten alive!

That is it! The good, the bad, and also the ugly on MLM genealogy leads.

You are right to be aimed towards opportunity buyers, but don't forget that most MLM genealogy lists are aged, outdated and full of bad data. You'll need to be careful how you contact them, and when you do actually reach the individual whose name is on your list you'll need to handle the conversation properly.
